Description Some impressions of this print were printed by Eugene Delâtre son of Auguste. The British Museum has an earlier lithograph impression on chine collé. From the series ‘Echoes from the German Alps’. Initialled and dated by the artist ‘77’. Lettered below image ‘The English Picture Publishing Co., Manchester. Maclure & Macdonald. Auto. 97 Queen Victoria Street’, and ‘Entd. Sta: Hall. Auto-proof, Copyright.’It was later published in P.G. Hamerton’s The Portfolio. March 1879, p.41
Exhibited Dundee An etching titled Reading by Herkomer was exhibited at the 1879 Dundee Fine Art Exhibition (West Gallery, No. 1157) and it is possible that it was this impression. Dundee Fine Art Exhibition Catalogue 1879, The McManus: Dundee’s Art Gallery and Museum.
