Description Although this print was not part of Orchar’s original collection – having been bought by the Trustees after his death, it is worthwhile including it here.

This and Windmill Hill No. 1 were both made on the same day. Haden was concise, but complimentary about this work simply stating ‘I like this plate’. Quote taken from Haden’s own handwritten annotations of Sir William Drake’s A Descriptive Catalogue of the Etched Work of Francis Seymour Haden. As cited in Richard S. Schneiderman, A Catalogue Raisonné of the prints of Sir Francis Seymour Haden. London, Robin Garton Ltd., 1983, p.2305.
