Details Etching and drypoint. Black ink on ivory coloured, possible Japan, paper. Top left inscription ‘Old Chelsea – Seymour Haden. On mount ‘Trail Proof e’.
Description The scene looks out over the Thames toward Old Chelsea Church. The church was bombed during WWII. The figure of a black male partially removed can just be seen on the bottom right. The removal of this figure was, according to Harrington, to meet the wishes of the Secretary of The Etching Club which published state four in Etchings for the Art Union of London (1872).
