Laguillermie was a pupil, along with Paul Adolphe Rajon, of Léopold Flameng and William-Adolphe Bourguereau. He regularly exhibited at the Paris Salon between 1863 and 1923. In 1866 he was awarded the Grand Prix de Rome and the Chevalier of the Legion of Honour followed in 1882. He was elected a member of the French Institute in 1911. For more information see Rodney K.
