Details Etching. All the Slocombe’s etchings are brown ink on wove, or possibly India, paper.The mount states all 12 belong to the 12 part series titled Rivers of the East Coast. Only 200 sets were published.

Signed artist’s proof; bottom left in graphite ‘Edward Slocombe’.

Description The River Wear flows from the Pennines, through County Durham, before meeting the North Sea at Sunderland. Slocombe presents a fairly idyllic scene of a couple of fishermen on the river and a girl walking home on the riverbank. The building just visible in the background may be Durham Castle.
